The literacy courses aim to integrate course participants into social, cultural and professional life. The course is a preparation for regular language courses at GER level A1.
- The course participants learn the letters of the Latin alphabet.
- They practice phonetic signs, word images and groups of letters.
- They write syllables and simple words.
- You practice reading words and sentences together.
- You acquire working techniques.
- You practice communicative action in everyday situations.

Alpha and Conversation
The course is aimed at foreign-language migrants who can hardly read and write or who are not literate in Latin script. In the German offer "Alpha and Conversation" the reading and speaking skills are promoted to such an extent that the course participants can cope with the minimum oral requirements. The focus is on oral language acquisition.

Deutsch intensiv - Summer course
The intensive "summer course" is aimed at foreign-language adults, women and men, who want to learn German intensively during the summer holidays in Basel. The course is related to everyday life and includes learning excursions on topics such as health, safety, the environment, leisure time and life in Switzerland.

In our most intensive German course, the participants not only strengthen their self-competence, but above all their language, social and professional skills. Here they learn everyday and job-oriented German. The goal is successful integration into the labor market. The internationally recognized telc certificate exam at the end of the course also serves this purpose.

"German for Women" is an intensive language support program for foreign-language women with childcare that takes place four times a year. It includes action- and everyday-oriented language acquisition, promotes networking among women, strengthens self-confidence and participation.

German in the evening 2 in 1
"German in the evening" is a language support program for foreign-language women and men with a fast learning pace. It includes action- and everyday-oriented language acquisition and offers the opportunity to take an official telc exam after completing the course.
"German in the evening 2 in 1" takes place twice a week either as face-to-face or blended learning. This course can be attended with the free voucher from the Canton of Basel-Stadt.

"Learning in the park" refers to an extensive course format that takes place in a park from May to September with four lessons per week. The course format is designed to be easily accessible with the aim of enabling those who are interested to start the course at any time.
